Intangent Hosts Charity Poker Tournament
June 29, 2015 (Toronto, ON) - Intangent hosted an internal charity poker tournament on Friday, June 26, promising to match the pot before donating it to the charity of the winner's choice.
In the end Intangent raised a total of $320.00 with the proceeds split between two local deserving charities: Furniture Bank & Second Harvest
Furniture Bank is a local operation dedicated to helping people who have recently transitioned out of homelessness, women and children escaping abusive situations, as well as newcomer families and refugees by providing them with gently used furniture and household goods donated by individuals or corporations.
In a year they will help roughly 2600 families furnish their homes through furniture and cash donations. To learn more about Furniture Bank, please visit: http://www.furniturebank.org/
Second Harvest has a simple mission: To rescue and deliver fresh, surplus food to feed people experiencing hunger. Last year Second Harvest diverted more than 7 million pounds of food from going to waste in order to deliver it to families, seniors, after school programs, addiction centers, and homeless individuals and shelters throughout the GTA alone. In Canada, nearly 40% of the food we produce goes to waste. For Second Harvest, almost 40% of their food recipients are children/youth. To learn more, visit: http://www.secondharvest.ca/
We look forward to planning similar events in the future.
